Plan Of Salvation
Friend, the Bible is the bestseller of all time for a reason. Within the pages of Holy Writ we learn how to live right. In this postmodern era where the world says there are no absolutes (which itself is an absolute statement) we find emptiness. But in the Scriptures we find the truth ! We find not only how to live right here but how to end up right in eternity !
Can you honestly say you are sure you are going to heaven the moment you die? The Bible teaches you can be sure and it is so very simple. Most people would say they hope to be in heaven and insist that living a pretty good life will assure them of this. But we are dealing with a perfect, holy God Who cannot tolerate or overlook one sin ! Yet He is willing to forgive all of your sins !
Each person is headed for eternity in hell unless they place their trust in what Jesus did at Calvary’s cross many years ago. That event potentially paid for your entrance into heaven or what the Bible sometimes refers to as salvation. Practically, when you do what the repentant thief did there that day you too will be guaranteed eternal salvation as was he.
What did the thief do there in Luke 24? He essentially did two things we all must do to be saved: (1) He admitted to God he was a sinner worthy of judgment & (2) He in faith asked the Lord to be his Savior. He truly meant these two things and because he did Jesus promised him salvation! And He extends the same promise to you as well if as yet you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ to be your Savior.
If you are not sure you will be in heaven when you die then if you can sincerely pray this prayer to God you WILL be saved:
“Dear Jesus,
I know I am a sinner, please forgive me for this. I also believe you died on the cross for me, in my place, and that you rose again proving you indeed are God, I ask you now to be my Savior. I ask you this in the name of Jesus, Amen !”
