Drink in the Good News

If you pay attention to the news for very long its not hard to get down or have a bad attitude. Politicians are often less than truthful and their motives suspect, the justice system is sometimes as bad as those they attempt to impose justice upon, business people can be all about power and greed, etc.  but thank the Lord we have something better to focus upon !  Isn’t refreshing to be able to open your Bible and get away from it all? To be able to read it and find great an encouraging news !   Also, how incredible it is that the living God lives in us once we’re saved and that we can fellowship with Him in others at our church? The church is an oasis of sorts in a dry and thirsty land called earth !

So today, turn off that TV, lay down that paper, stop scouring the internet for the latest bad news and look again into the Good News and let it refresh your soul.   The psalmist penned, “O God, Thou art my God; early will I seek Thee; my soul thirsteth for Thee; my flesh longeth for Thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.” (Ps.63:1).   A premium was placed on meeting with the Lord each day. Just as a plant starts to dry up in hot temperatures with little water, so a person begins to dry up spiritually with no refreshing and renewing.  Has it been a little while since you took some quality time with your Savior?  Why not determine to today?!  You may not always see the immediate results but you will be refreshed !    The world seeks to takes its toll even on the best of believers, so water your soul well today my friend !
