Elect to forge ahead

Well another election is in the books in our nation and yet Jesus Christ is still on the throne !   Though it is very sad to see our nation embracing more and more anti-Christ ideas, it is yet a vivid reminder of the great need for the church (and you as a part of it once saved) to stand all the more for Him.

Three prominent biblical figures come to my mind this morning: Esther,  Daniel & Paul.   Esther through prayer and obedience to God salvaged God’s people from a pre-holocaust holocaust !   Daniel through prayer and obedience saved countless lives in the Babylonian captivity and paved the way for the return of the Jews to Israel while bringing the greatest pagan ruler of his day to his knees as that monarch proclaimed, “Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of Heaven. . . ”  (Dan.4:37).  Daniel’s testimony for the Lord made a monumental impact upon his world !  Finally, the story is all too familiar of the once great anatagonist of the faith, Saul of Tarsus, coming to Christ in Acts 9 and going on to “turn the world upside down” starting churches all over the known world despite intense opposition from the Jews, sometimes from those within the church, and the government of Rome !

If you feel irrelevant today as to how our nation is, it is either that you are wrong or right about that. If you’re right it’s because you need to simply live for the Lord and even though man has a free will and chooses to not believe in the Lord that not your problem, you are doing what you can.  Noah only had eight converts but was a resounding success !   But if you’re wrong, it’s because you have let yourself believe that lie for God has promised His Word will not return void (Is.55:11) ! Christians are the greatest force for truly good change in this dark world because God is IN you !!   Pray for your country, keep following your Lord, don’t settle for a mediocre involvement in His local church, get busy letting God use your talents there. The choice is clear for us as believers: don’t keep whining, keep winning souls for Him – this is the great mission set before us all !
