Take a good leap
Did you hear about the guy who did an extreme jump from 24 miles up? WOW ! He leapt off of his perch three times higher than the average commercial airliner levels out at !! Here is the video in case you weren’t able to see it: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/watch-skydiver-attempting-to-break-sound-barrier-in-23-mile-leap-from-edge-of-space/ This was an amazing feat of courage and skillful preparation. Did you notice the guy had an entire “mission control” support team standing by with advice and instruction and monitoring him and anything needed to obtain success? But I am glad to hear this will be his last such jump !
As a Christian we also are called to do incredible things for the Lord. At times He puts in our way situations that are huge and we either start to worry and wonder how it will be done or we can let it drive us to Him as our support and not only grow through the situation but catch a glimpse of how great and real He truly is ! Our support team is not only the Lord and His strength but Scripture talks about us, as His children once saved, having “ministering angels” (Heb.1:14) which I think we often forget about. We aren’t to pray to them as other gods or patron saints as some erroneously do but still they are there to “minister” to us in times of duress. So you’re not alone in your efforts and struggles here.
We also have the support of the local assembly, the church. We can go to folks in our congregation and ask for their prayers (James 5:16) or to seek God’s wisdom through another believer who has perhaps been through the same trying situation and obtain answers. Remember, if they are truly saved, they have the Lord in them !! We can also pick up a good Christian book on a subject for assistance and “stand on the shoulders” of great men and women of God who have walked by faith in similar instances before us and be encouraged and informed on how to accomplish like similiar feats of spiritual prowess. So, today is a new day offering challenges sometimes way beyond our abilities yet we have, thanks to God, great support available – why not lean on what He has for you to take a “leap of faith” for Him and accomplish something really spectacular and glorify Him by it ?! “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” (Prov.3:5-6).
