Handling the “Blasts” of Life

Woke up this morning to a nice blast of fresh snow. That’s a pretty unusual sight this winter.  And one indication of our winter this far also is our tulips have started to come up but were in for a rude awakening this morning !  What about you? Don’t get caught off guard like those tulips. Its not difficult to smile and persist when things are going well, but when life’s storms hit what will you do?   How will you handle the “blasts” that sometimes come?

One of the ways in which we can truly demonstrate our faith in Christ is HOW we handle our blasts !  And to do that, like those tulip bulbs, we must be firmly rooted and snugly tucked and grounded in the Word.  Most people are governed by their circumstances – when life is hard they get hardened, when life is troublesome they are troubled.  But the child of God has a BETTER Governor !  And when we “know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to His purpose” (Rom.8:28) nothing can rule us because He is !  That word know in that verse indicates Paul was convinced and remained so,  so must we be, that God is even using life’s blasts to better us !!

Whatever blast you may face, remember also this – its temporary !  That can be trying to believe when its happening in the present but the reality is all trials will end because God says so and the weather ahead is sunny and bright in God’s forecast ! So keep on chugging along, He will get you through and the tulips will bloom !!!
