Keep Praying !!

One of the joys of the Christian life has got to be prayer !  Isn’t it utterly amazing that a sinner can call out to a holy God and be heard?! Jeremiah wrote, “Call unto Me and I will answer thee and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.” (33:3)  Today I got to spend a little more time before church to pray and asked the Lord that someone brand new would show up to our Sunday School as we were just beginning a new series there.  As the time drew near for us to begin in walked a young lady who lived up the road from our church then right after her a widowed mom with her two boys.  As I talked to them both it was amazing to here how they came to come out, the young lady worked at a farm nearby and had just finished chores and thought she would come to church this morning of all mornings !  The mother was headed into town to find a church when all of a sudden she told her boys they would probably not make it to town in time and she suddenly spotted our church, turned the car around and drove in !  Wonder if the good Lord had anything to do with these ?  Seems a tad more than coincidence to this child of God !!

Anyway, isn’t it astounding the great privilege we have to bring our petitions to the God of all the universe?  And it certainly bolsters our faith and makes God more real to our often faithless minds.  What could you pray about today?  What lives might God impact through your prayers this week?  Do not underestimate the power God can wield through your prayers. James put it this way, “. . . the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (5:16), be that person today so that God can encourage your faith and reach out to others too !  Keep praying !!
