He knows best

God sure knows what He’s doing, doesn’t He?  As I look out the window and see the snow coming down its a beautiful sight.  A fresh pristine blanket of snow covering the landscape and giving us the life giving water we’ll need for the days and weeks ahead. We can easily curse the snow when it interrupts our plans but God knows best.

We tend to look at things in the short term but as you get into the Bible God brings a fresh and higher perspective so that we start to also see things His way.  This is why Paul left us with such verses as Rom.8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to His purpose.”  What are you going through today?  Has something easily annoyed you or are you allowing worry to override trust in God?   Have your plans been derailed in some way, again ? God is still God and sits on His throne in perfect control of what you may think is at best, organized chaos !    Take some time to meditate on some verse that will lift your sights a little higher than where they have been and you will find His relief.

It was dear old Asaph that wrote, “For all the day long I have been plagued and chastened every morning. . . until I went into the sanctuary of God” (Ps.73:14-17).   He goes on: “But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare alll Thy works.” (vs.28).    Like Asaph, our choice is clear as the snow crystals that fall:  we can look at life through purely our tainted eyes or God’s perfect lenses of His Word !  He really does know what He’s doing !!
