Holy Spirit Help

I was putting together the Sunday School lesson for this week and I had stumbled upon a book some time ago the new series is based on. One of the points to be made in the lesson (a shameless plug to be in Sunday School tomorrow) is astounding and life altering in a very good way.  Every so often as you really think (which is the crux of the series: How to Think Better) on truth it can really make a great impact and move you in a way that is better. This one does for your health, even !!  The Holy Spirit is the great Agent in such transactions and not long after I was saved I recall reading a little booklet to help me grow in the basics of the Christian life and it stated I should ask Him to enlighten me as I read His Word. That works !!

Paul wrote, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1Cor.2:14).   Unsaved people aren’t too interested in truth and the Word is frankly to them foolishness and fables but the last part of the verse declares even if he reads the Bible it will not impact him like it would a saved person because he is not indwelt by God’s Spirit as those of us who are saved.   One of His functions is to help us to understand truth !   So next time you sit down to read your Bible or head off to church breathe a quick prayer asking Him to help you see truth better and watch what starts to happen !!  It’s pretty cool !!!!
