Monday Blues, Kingdom Blessings

Soon in Pennsylvania we have our state primary elections.  If you live outside our commonwealth in another state yours is likely a different time but for all of us in these United States its a chance to exercise our say so on who we would like to see represent us.  Sadly, some Christians don’t vote as they have become cynical or are apathetic and some vote without giving much thought to whom they cast their ballot for, but thankfully others take seriously this great privilege and vote with wisdom.

We have been granted a great honor to have such a place in the structure of our government, the founders rightly understood our rights extend from God and that the government should therefore be of the people, by the people, and for the people.  As great as our nation and our Constitution are, the most perfect union or government will be when Jesus sets up His kingdom ! What a day that will be.  The early disciples longed for it, Jesus taught us to pray about it,  and yet often I think in the course of our days how much do we consider it, or if we would how encouraging that would be to us ?!     As Zechariah alluded to the Kingdom age he gave us a future glimpse of kingdom hearts in his book when he wrote, “And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.” (8:21).  Sounds just like Sunday mornings in most homes today doesn’t it?  Um, no !    Isaiah said this of this time: “The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bull, and dust shall be the serpent’s meat (even then we’ll be reminded of Satan’s evil). They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, saith the Lord.” (Is.65:25).

What a grand world it will be then, vastly different and much more spiritual than ours.  There is coming a day, child of God, when the things of this old world will give way to a new and glorious kingdom ruled by Christ and His saints, YOU !  You may have the Monday blues, but soon will come Kingdom blessings !!
